Though he's already asking, "But what happens when you need to go away for work?" I've decided to do the baking for my husband's coffee roasting company/cafe. It won't be extensive--chocolate chip cookies, poundcake, pecan balls, something fruity. I'm taking this on this because I really want to, and also because:
He's not going to find better baked goods
I don't want some other woman having her goods in there.
I'd planned to name my little baking venture after our kitty, who was run over and killed last month, but then I found out Kitty Johnson is the nom-de-porn of an actress who specializes in anal. As a friend noted, think of the health code violations.
Oh! I remember thoes cookies.. so good! I don't even like milk, yet I want to dunk them. Hmm... thinking of a martini that one could dunk cookies in.

Din wooed me with about five cold chocolate martinis; he was a bartender at the time, we'd only just met, and every time I looked up, there was a fresh cocktail on the bar.

Chocolate martinis?! I can't handle all that booze...or can I? What's in them?

Not sure, but think: creme de cacao and vodka and, um, ice. They were very cold, and served straight, in rock glasses. I drank five or six. When Din's shift ended, we--Hillary, Din, a friend of Din's and I--readied to go to another bar.
"It's sort of a dive," Din said, already protective of me. He did not know I was a nightlife columinst; that I spent four nights a week in old man bars; ee was trying to protect me (*sigh*). Memorable as the chocolate martinis were, it was the man that won me.

I'd walk to Portland for one of your chocolate chip cookies. I believe I once got lost in a plate of them at Cathy's. I think they had to call an emergency crew with a winch to pull me out.

Lots of chocolate martini variations: Almond joy with dark chocolate liquor, amaretto, & cream.. Vanilla vodka, Godiva dark chocolate liquor, banana liquor & cream... but the standards is vanilla vodka nad creme de cacao. Hmm.. perhaps we should have a taste-off, but then this is about cookies. You going to let me know when he opens?
