Cathy Seipp, friend to many (and known to others) who read this blog, is in ICU at Cedars and expected to live but a few more days. Her 18-year-old daughter Maia has a post up on Cathy's blog, where you can leave your best wishes, thoughts and prayers. From emails and calls I am receiving from friends, Cathy is no longer in pain, and is surrounded by loved ones, including Maia, who wrote the post while holding her mother's hand.
I only know her through her writings but it made me very sad to read this.

I'll miss Cathy's writings. She really is so sharp and provocative. I originally came to your site (and several others) through her.

I was sorry to read this.
Still remember going to her house once many, many years ago, and having Cathy show her new "portable computer." It was the first one most of us (including me) had ever seen, and the sucker weighed about 50 pounds.
My condolences to you, Nancy, and to all of Cathy's family and friends.

Such sad news. I was so hoping she'd recover.
