Warning: this is a frivolous post about me and me: The magazine I most often write for these days (whose articles are not yet online, in case you're wondering why the eff I don't link new work), asked me, gently, if I could provide a new author photograph, their having to run the same one four times in the past year. Today, one happened to fall into my hands (thanks, Loren!). Old one on the left, new on the right. You get to choose:

Right. Smokin' hot

Both are great....but could you look a little happier? ;-)

The one on the right. Great photo.

Definitely the one on the right.

Can't go wrong with either one that's for sure but I like the one on the left best. I love the one heading your blog.

left ... Eyes dare you. Sexy up against the wall.

Left. The one on the right is the look my wife gives me when I tell her she can only bring 3 suitcases.

If I were drinking anything, Eric, it would have come out of my nose.
My husband likes the one on the left, too. I told him, he could -- for the first time ever -- go on my blog, maybe even leave a comment?
His response: "Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?"

The one on the left always reminds me of Juliette Binoche in The English Patient...

The one on the right is truly breath-taking. Almost tear-provoking, for some reason - in a good way. Stunning.

I prefer the one on the left. As for celebrity resemblances, I've long thought you look like Natalie Wood.

Smile!

The one on the right has a certain composure, I think.

Wow, both are great, but I like the one on the left better.

The one on the right is too intense, I'd go with the left.

I concur--I like the one on the left. And I agree that smiling would be nice too, since it works so well with the live and in person N.R.

Left. Definitely.

What's 8 for the left, 5 for the right. As we'll say in November: the left wins!

As we'll say in November: the left wins!
Dream on! ;)

Sometimes left is right.

That was a set up!
Posted by: Brett | September 21, 2008 at 04:15 PM
No, just a coincidence. After all, you guys chose the left over the right.
Posted by: Nancy Rommelmann | September 21, 2008 at 04:35 PM
Spunk on the left, depth on the right...can't go wrong.

My, I took an immediate dislike to the one on the right! You look angry to me. Maybe I'm hampered by knowing you, and your range of expressions, but you are lovelier than that even when you really are angry! I love the one on the left, always have.

The one on the right strikes me not as angry, but as so very, very weary. The color seems off somehow, too.
Posted by: Zev | September 24, 2008 at 02:50 PM
The one on the right is more conventionally attractive, but the one on the left is more intriguing and way sexier.
