My, my, it's bread and circuses time: open The Oregonian this morning, to a quarter-page paid advertisement from Jesus, as relayed through the imprisoned self-proclaimed Mormon prophet and in my opinion sociopathic piece of slime Warren Jeffs. That's below. Oh, and look at that, it's right across the page from a photo of Mormon candidate Mitt Romney, prompting me to ask my husband whether he thinks Romney's supporters or opponents placed the ad, to which he replied, stone-faced, "I thought you said Jesus ran it." Oh and look, in the photo with Romney is Newt Gingrich, shaking his finger, decrying that CNN had done something as "close to despicable as I can imagine," in their airing a segment with Gingrich's ex-wife, on whom he was having an affair with a White House aide while trying to impeach Clinton for having an affair with a White House aide, and in which she, the ex-wife, claimed Gingrich wanted to have an "open marriage," or, short version, wanted to be able to have relations with his wife and other women, which Jeffs also believes in, except he has them marry them, so long as they're twelve.
Nancy, please don't do this. Mitt Romney is not a member of the same church as Warren Jeffs. It is so discouraging to see someone whom I respect as a writer put that out there.

I was suggesting that Romney's opponents may have placed the ad; that we might be looking at a larger ball of wax.

I'm sorry, I missed your point, "fellow-Mormon" threw me and I took it literally. Thank you for your response.
